Sales Pricing

EXP0 allows artists to sell their digital works with ease. This page explains how pricing works.

Sale Price

Pricing Freedom

The artist freely sets the sale price of their work. There is no minimum or maximum price imposed by the platform.

The entered price corresponds to the creator price: this is the amount the artist wishes to receive for each sale.

Make an Offer

The Make an offer option allows a buyer to submit a price proposal directly to the Artist, outside the displayed price. This mechanism introduces a dimension of structured negotiation, inspired by traditional art market practices and the NFT secondary market.

This feature is particularly suitable for unique works (1/1) or very limited series.

The Artist remains entirely free to accept, refuse, or counter-propose an offer. If accepted, the transaction takes place within EXP0’s secure framework, with the same legal, contractual, and technical guarantees as a standard sale (NFT, license, traceability, royalties).

Platform Fees

EXP0 Commission

EXP0 charges service fees on each transaction:

Platform fees Detail
15% of creator price Standard commission
Minimum €2 Minimum fee per transaction

Catalog Price Calculation

The price displayed to buyers (catalog price) is calculated as follows:

Public price = Creator price + Platform fees

Examples:

Creator price Fees (15%) Applied fees Public price
€5 €0.75 €2 (minimum) €7
€10 €1.50 €2 (minimum) €12
€20 €3 €3 €23
€50 €7.50 €7.50 €57.50
€100 €15 €15 €115

Fees are automatically calculated and displayed when creating the product.

Physical Supports (optional)

Additional Service

In addition to the digital artwork, the artist can offer physical supports for sale. These options are configured when creating the product and allow collectors to acquire a material version of the work.

Key takeaway

The purchase of a physical support is independent of the acquisition of the digital file.
The collector can choose to buy only the digital, only a physical support, or both.

Royalties on Resales (secondary market)

Model

EXP0 applies the following model for resales:

Type Percentage Beneficiary
Artist royalties 10% Direct to artist wallet
Buyer fees 3% EXP0 platform

How it Works

During a resale on an EIP-2981 compatible marketplace (OpenSea, Rarible, etc.):

  1. The marketplace deducts 10% of the sale price
  2. These royalties are sent directly to the artist’s wallet
  3. The artist receives their royalties automatically on each resale
  4. EXP0 deducts 3% transaction fees paid by the buyer

Royalties are written into the smart contract and go directly to the artist via the EIP-2981 standard.

Frequently Asked Questions

How to set a sale price?

Setting the price of an artwork on EXP0 is based on a balance between reputation, rarity, and granted usage rights.

  • Your reputation and background: An emerging artist, an established artist, or a recognized artist do not operate at the same price levels. Your history of exhibitions, sales, publications, or collaborations provides a legitimate reference for buyers;
  • The rarity of the artwork (edition series): The rarer an artwork, the higher its unit value;
  • The usage rights granted by the license

On the NFT market, observed prices vary widely, but the following standards can serve as benchmarks:

Series / License © Copyright CC BY EXP0-S EXP0-X
Unique Edition (1/1) €200 → €800 €150 → €600 €500 → €2,000 €2,000 → €15,000+
Limited Edition (1/10) €80 → €250 €60 → €200 €200 → €800 Not applicable
Numbered Edition (1/100) €15 → €50 €10 → €40 €40 → €150 Not applicable
Unlimited Edition €5 → €30 Free → €20 €15 → €100 Not applicable

👉 Good practice: start with a coherent and justified price. On EXP0, the price is locked after the first sale to ensure fairness among collectors. The value of an artwork is also built over time, particularly through resales and royalties on the secondary market.

Can I modify the price after publication?

On EXP0, the public price is locked after the first sale to ensure fairness among buyers.

The Make an offer option, however, allows you to conclude a specific sale at a negotiated price, without modifying the catalog price or compromising the consistency of the series.

Are fees the same for all editions?

Yes, fees of 15% (min. €2) apply equally to unique editions (1/1), limited editions (1/10), and numbered editions (1/100).

How are resale royalties calculated?

Royalties of 10% are automatically deducted during resales on the secondary market via the EIP-2981 standard. They go directly to the artist’s wallet, without passing through EXP0.

Why 10% royalties?

This rate ensures:

  • Fair compensation for the artist on each resale
  • Direct and transparent payment via the blockchain
  • Alignment with the practices of major NFT art platforms
