Unlimited Series (♾️)

The Unlimited Series (or open series) allows an Artist to offer an Artwork for digital download without limiting the number of copies sold.

Unlike Limited Series (1/1, 1/10, 1/100), it does not rely on the concept of rarity, involves no NFT, and generates no certificate of authenticity.

The Unlimited Series corresponds to a digital distribution model, similar to the practices of image banks or editorial license platforms.

What the buyer receives:

  • a digital file (HD, JPEG, etc.)
  • a usage license defining the usage rights (©, CC-BY, EXPO-S)

The Unlimited Series provides access to the file, not to a numbered copy or a collectible title.

Characteristics:

  • The Unlimited Series does not constitute a series in the artistic sense, but a (digital distribution under license).
  • No numbering, no limitation on the number of buyers.
  • No NFT issued, no rarity or collection logic.
  • No right to physical print is associated with the file.
  • Compatible only with non-exclusive licenses.

The EXPO Exclusive license (EXPO-X) is incompatible with any unlimited series.

When to choose an Unlimited Series?

This format is ideal for uses where the objective is not collection but image exploitation, notably:

  • selling an Artwork accompanied by a usage license (©, CC-BY, EXPO-S),
  • offering a visual immediately usable in an editorial or commercial context,
  • meeting the needs of media, businesses, organizations,
  • distributing content for wide dissemination, without the intention of creating rarity,
  • monetizing a work via a volume + licenses model, rather than a collection logic.
